Vegas/Havasupai Trip

I'm on my last day of an incredible vacation with my sweet husband Judd, and my brother Scott. Scott's friend Tracey lives in Vegas and helped us out so much with getting around and supplies, and even got us VIP passes to the Celine Dion concert at Caesar's Palace because she works for her. It was an amazing concert that was so much better than the Lance Burton magician show we went to last night. That was miserable, and to think we had to sit through a time share presentation to get that! The best part of the trip though was definitely going down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon to Havasu Falls. I've been there before with a UVSC group 7 years ago and have always wanted to go back, especially with people I love and finally got to. It was a 10 mile hike to the bottom, we set up camp for the night and enjoyed the beautiful crystal blue waterfall, and then it stormed like crazy that night - but we were safe and sound in our tent. The next day we hiked about 4 miles out to more waterfalls and enjoyed adventurous climbs and scenic views. The last day we hiked up and not only was it more difficult because it was uphill in the dead heat and we had limited water supply, but we somehow got completely lost. After desperately searching, scrapes and bruises, and a sincere pray - we were able to get out. We are all grateful to be alive and know that the Lord helped us, as He does everyday of our lives. My parents took care of Brooke this week, and though it has been nice to get away and bond with my hubby, I have missed her so much and can't wait to get back to her. This trip has reminded me how much I love the west and the outdoors and hiking, but also how much I love being with family. This has been my first week off for the summer and so far my summer vacation has started out fantastic!
